Origami Girl

I made my first glass of freshly squeezed orange juice all by myself this morning. It was beautiful. Going back to normal orange juice will never quite be the same again... I might have to find one of these juicing machines!

Clarissa was at school all day today so I essentially had a 'free' day again. Studied some more Italian (nouns - food and things in the kitchen) and made a game of 'Pairs' using Italian and English which I can play with Clarissa tomorrow. It'll help her learn some new words and it'll help me learn some more vocab (ok, it's more for me but waheey!). A win-win! When she came in to say good night before she went to bed, I was just finishing off the last few cards.

"What are you doing?" she asked.
"I'm making a game..." She looked up at me, eyes alight with excitement.
"A game? We can play it tomorrow..!"

Ever since I made a paper crane for Clarissa at the weekend, yesterday I had to make a rabbit and today, a butterfly and a heart. I'm sure I'm going to be known as Origami girl by the time I go home.

My origami heart and butterfly attempt...

I'll let you know tomorrow what she's demanded I make next. I say demanded, but she's getting better at saying please. A few days ago it was "we go play?" now it's "please we go play?". Nearly there at least.

In the hour she had home for lunch, we played with some of those tiny multi coloured bead things which you arrange onto a piece of plastic and then iron and they stick together. I made an English flag (of course) and an Italian one, and spelt out Clari's name, which she was delighted with. We played hide and seek, which was interesting as Clari counted to ten in about 3 seconds... When it was my turn to count, she went and hid and I went to look for her.

"Jennie.. I'm heeere!" I heard calling from behind a curtain in the hall. I pulled it back to reveal a Clarissa grinning cheekily.
"You're not supposed to tell me where you are!" I said.
"It was just to help you."

Tonight was 'Movie Night' so we had dinner watching the TV and I watched another episode of Star Trek (in English). Luckily this one wasn't as weird as the first one. But it does mean I go to bed with the theme tune stuck in my head.
